CECOPS CIC: Transforming the Assistive Technology Landscape – A Journey of Growth, Impact, and Innovation
CECOPS: HOW IT STARTED & HOW IT’S GOING
Reflecting on our CECOPS journey—from our modest beginnings to where we are today—it’s clear that we’ve come a long way. And as we look at the expanding network of services working with us, the scale of our impact is truly staggering. (See the shaded area in the map).
A Rapidly Expanding Presence
CECOPS now serves over 200 services across all of Northern Ireland, most regions of England, and we are quickly scaling in Scotland and Wales—which is a testament to the value of what we offer.
Our services are in demand like never before, as more and more providers recognise the value of our innovative solutions in improving assistive technology services.
When we founded CECOPS CIC in 2014, we took a bold leap of faith. At the time, we were a start-up—unfunded and unsupported. But we knew it was a risk worth taking, driven by our mission to improve lives through better access to and provision of assistive technology services.
Driven by Results: Improving Outcomes and Service Quality
At CECOPS, we’re passionate about one thing: getting assistive technology services right. We know that the right services make all the difference, empowering individuals and creating life-changing outcomes. This belief has been the cornerstone of our growth.
Early Success, Ever-Growing Demand
Our accreditation scheme and outcomes-based quality frameworks quickly gained traction. The feedback was clear: CECOPS was streamlining procurement and commissioning, while ensuring quality, safety, and performance were always top priorities.
Providers, particularly those offering good services, saw tremendous value in partnering with us. CECOPS became the trusted stamp of approval that allowed providers to showcase the true quality and performance of their services.
CECOPS has also earned the official backing of key regulators and professional bodies, which has greatly expanded our reach and influence.
But what sets CECOPS apart? We believe it’s our whole-systems focus, person-centred outcomes as well as our commitment to continuous improvement.
Our innovative grading system and cutting-edge support tools allow providers to not only meet standards but exceed them—demonstrating real value to commissioners and service users alike.
A New Milestone: Corporate Accreditation
In our continued pursuit of excellence, we’re excited to have introduced Corporate Accreditation—a dedicated programme for large organisations offering multiple services and contracts.
Already, the three largest providers of assistive technology services in the UK have joined our corporate programme, demonstrating the growing recognition of the value we bring.
The CECOPS Advantage: Why You should work with Us
If you’re involved in planning, commissioning, or providing assistive technology services—whether it’s community equipment, wheelchairs, or tech-enabled care—we’d like to work with you. Here’s why:
- Proven Results: As an independent body, our standards and frameworks are trusted across the UK, ensuring that you deliver high-quality, compliant, and impactful services.
- Scalability & Flexibility: Whether you’re a small provider or a large organisation, CECOPS has a solution that fits your needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Our innovative grading system and support tools give you the resources to improve services and outcomes continuously.
- Industry/Sector Recognition: Joining CECOPS means you gain the credibility of our highly regarded accreditation.
Thank you and Looking Ahead: Bigger, Better, and More Impactful
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported CECOPS so far—we couldn’t have done it without you. But our work is far from finished, and together, we can continue to improve lives, elevate standards, and drive better outcomes for all.
